Accountant
Job Definition
- Responsible for month end & year end closing and financial reporting for Thailand and India
- Ensure proper and timely monthly reporting to the parent company
- Conduct monthly/quarterly reconciliation on Intercompany Invoices with Affiliated entities
- Send reminders or notices to customers regarding outstanding payments, collaborating with them to resolve payment issues. Work together with service teams to resolve customers’ payment disputes and address their inquiries.
- Assess and recommend write-offs for uncollectible accounts. Collaborating with management to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Implement dunning processes to manage overdue accounts.
- Manage and facilitate the approval workflows for supplier invoices, ensuring proper authorization and adherence to internal controls.
- Coordinate and execute timely payments to suppliers and employees.
- Oversee payment processes, including electronic funds transfers, wire transfers, and other payment methods by ensuring compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies in all accounts payable processes
- Manage payment of travel expense reports, ensuring compliance with company travel policies and accurately recording expenses.
- Accrue for outstanding expenses and ensure that financial statements reflect accurate liabilities related to unpaid invoices or services.
- Responsible for Personnel cost accounting treatments (Payroll, Variables posting etc.) and perform reconciliation for payroll transactions in general ledger
- Manage fixed assets
- Manage local GAAPs differences to German GAAP (HGB)
- Fulfil reporting obligations towards local financial authorities
- Ensure local compliance with tax laws and reporting requirements
- Ensure timely tax filing (monthly/quarterly) and annual tax filing for Thailand and India
- Provide regular updates and insights to stakeholders on the changes/development of tax regulations in the tax jurisdictions for Thailand and India
- Ensure tax compliant including withholding tax, VAT, intercompany transactions based on Transfer Pricing rules and any other tax which maybe applicable
- Fulfil local statistics requirements
- Coordinate budgeting processes, monitor fiscal spending and contribute to financial forecasting
- Be the contact person for local external accountants, internal auditors, external auditors and Tax Advisors
- Handle external audits and ensuring that audit requirements are properly met
- Compile and provide legal entity-specific German GAAP-notes and appendices in the year end process
- To perform other related duties as assigned or other tasks as and when required
Job Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional finance/accounting qualification is a plus
- 5 years of proven experience in a multinational company is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of Thailand accounting principles, tax laws, and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of International Accounting Rules (IFRS), German accounting standards (HGB) and Accounting Standards in ASEAN countries is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in financial management software, bookkeeping software, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Prior experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Dynamic 365 is preferred).
Language Skills:
- Fluency in English and Thai (written and spoken)
- German language and other ASEAN language skills are a plus
